The Bertoli family, pioneers of the luxury hotel industry in Val d'Isère
The history of the Christiania is inseparable from the history of the Bertoli family.
It all began in 1948, when Paul Bertoli decided to open the hotel of his dreams in Val d'Isère to welcome mountain lovers with elegance. With the help of his cousin Pierre Balmain, he quickly made this top-of-the-range hotel the favourite mountain residence of many celebrities.
Today, Bastien Bertoli is carrying on his grandfather's legacy. An art of living in the mountains developed over more than forty years by his father, Philippe Bertoli, which makes the Christiania much more than a hotel, an emblematic place in the Val d'Isère landscape and the soul of the ski resort.

Hotel Christiania offers valet parking, luggage storage, laundry service and 24/7 room service.
To look after your children from 5 to 10 years old, the Kids-Club, under the watchful eye of an animator, welcomes your children from 5.15 pm to 9.45 pm, every day except Saturday. For the little ones, our Concierge has a list of baby-sitters at your disposal (on top).
